If there are any kind souls out there who wish to post me goodies and messages of love along the way, the details are below. Please take note of my approximate arrival date and remember I might actually arrive earlier than expected. Write ‘Please hold for PCT hiker‘ and then my name in big bold letters and put my expected arrival date on the letter/package. Then be sure to send me an email or a comment to this page to let me know where you’ve sent something, then I’ll know to ask for it. Consumables are preferred (I’ll eat just about anything except spicy food), as are the locations in bold below as I’ll be spending an extra day in these towns. I would allow at least 3-4 weeks for delivery, especially from Australia! 🙂

Maybe this is by choice … but no where on your site does it tell your name for the care packages. While I am an on-the-trail PCT Trail Angel, there may be some angels who would like to send you a care package.
You may also want to provide a wish list of foods you might enjoy, things not to send you, etc.
IF any of your resupplies stops are charging to hold your packages, let us know so we can avoid sending things there. Angels want our gifts to be ‘free’ of charge.

Bacon Bit (2012) and Wired (2011) weren’t expecting anything either … what they quickly found out about those of us who couldn’t break away for such a wonderful adventure (just yet) is that we really enjoy good blogs and supporting people along the trail. Erin is off to do the CDT this year and I am currently putting together a care package for her.

Chis your package is wonderful!!! The coffee is perfect and those drink packets are amazing!!! I’ll definitely stay hydrated through the next section! The insoles fit really well so I’m thinking of maybe bouncing them ahead for when my current ones wear out (which may be sooner than later). I’ll probably use the socks for sleeping and maybe bounce one pair ahead for Washington when it’ll be cold on the feet. Let me know how the Instant Breakfast works out, I wasn’t sure if you were carrying powdered milk or I would have sent that too for max calories.
They will be perfect!!! UB drinks them all the time and swears by them! He had some already so I get to take all the ones you sent us! Perfect as I’ve got a 10 day stretch ahead of me to South Lake Tahoe and ill need all the strength I can get!
Look for an Amazon Package in South Lake Tahoe for Sawyer Premium Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent. Spray your pack, tent, hat, bivy, shoes, outer clothes, but net, etc. Be sure to be in a well ventilated place away from wind. It’ll dry pretty quickly. It lasts through 6 washings or for 6 weeks. No odor once it dries. You’ll be able to use DEET less often and only on exposed skin. YES, you have more skeeter and black fly places to look forward to. I HATE these pests also. They DRIVE me CRAZY!!! Especially noseeums. GOOD LUCK – hope it arrives, if not, check the gear store that loves PCT hikers, can’t remember the name – they may have some to sell.

I’m prepping another package of coffee, drink mixes and instant breakfast packets. When you get a chance, let me know if you’d like it sent to Dunsmuir, Etna or Ashland. I’d like to post it on July 10 or 11.
I’m not sure what your resupply plan is between Ashland and Cascade Locks … but hopefully I can surprise you and a few others with apples and coffee during that stretch. I’m almost able to drive!

Etna it will be. I’ve packed it with only consumables with extra ziplock bags so you can parse things as desired. I’ll post it 11July via Priority Mail. Enjoy your time in South Lake Tahoe.

Recently discovered trader Joe’s has really nice Shea butter. Also, itch ease or Benadryl ointment for bites? Mine really eased up after using a combination of those two.

MukMuk – I just sent a small Priority Mail box to you at Drakesbad. It is estimated to arrive by July 18, but I put July 20 on the box as your estimated arrival date (… now that we’re all practiced up on how to estimate where you will be on any given date…) I didn’t read the above comments beforehand – sorry if you end up feeling deluged at Drakesbad, but I’m assuming there will be other hikers to share excess stuff with, if not a hiker box (or trash can!). I just spent the weekend in Big Bear Lake and hiked a trail that briefly joined the PCT, but your footprints were long gone. 🙂

Heads up that folks are saying that Drakesbad is no longer hiker friendly. Might want to consider getting most needs met in Chester and just grabbing your package in Drakesbad.

It is swim team season here so ALL stores were sold out of packets of Gatorade. Other goodies in there, too. Safe hiking.

Have you tried those Starbucks instant coffee’s that you mix with a cold water bottle? Do you need any shirts, socks etc? I will gladly send anything you need.

I actually have some angels sending me packages to Ashland and Etna, but I was looking at my schedule and Trout Lake could be a better option. I already have all my basics covered for the rest of the trail so it could be good to send something I can eat before I hit the trail again out of town. I am going through socks every 100 miles so if you know of a brand that works well for you and want to include a pair I’d be happy to test them out! What you are doing is so amazing and such an inspiration. Sometimes it reminds me of Dory (the fish in Finding Nemo) where she says “just keep swimming” 🙂

Wow, 2 straight 30 mile days you are on a roll, Muk Muk! Curious how you are tracking for your Etna arrival (Wed or Thu?), want to get up there and provide some TM for you and other PCT thru hikers; give an estimate and will do my best to get there similar time frame.

Wow! You are one amazing lady. Russ at Trail Designs sent me your blog link. I haven’t read it all but I am fascinated by your adventure and perseverance. I hope you feel better soon. Two helps come to mind. One, your encounter with the mountain lion spurred me to by an air horn (1.4 oz,120 Decibel volume with 1 mile audible distance). Actually I bought two, one for me and one for you if you want it. Two, I have a SPOT Connect that is not currently being used, as you may know, it pairs with your smart phone and allows for custom text messages to be sent out (but not received). I would be happy to loan it to you for extended and indeterminate period. It has to be set up, paired, cost plan purchased, etc. It adds a bit more complexity but you appear to be remarkably technically savvy as I see from you Blog, videos, gear list, etc. Let me know. Hey thanks so much for the offer! The air horn sounds pretty cool but I’m trying so hard to reduce my base weight so I’m not 100% sure I’ll want to carry it. The custom SPOT would also be great but because I’ve got mine set up with my blog and twitter I think I’m gonna have to stick with my current device.
