Do you think the Sawyers gear spray I sent you in South Lake Tahoe was worthwhile? If so, for future hikers, where would you recommend they ship it to themselves?
Yes definitely. It would have been good to have it in Mammoth Lakes to use before I hit the major mosquito zone in Yosemite. I don’t know how long it repels mosquitos for after washing your clothes so it could be good to test this before the hike if possible!
It lasts 6 weeks or 6 washings!
I saw in a post that you used a Bivy sack. I was wondering what one you used? Sorry if you already posted this somewhere, i can’t seem to find it.
Good point! I was so traumatised using this through mosquito country I must have subconsciously left it off. It was a Sierra Designs Baffin Sleeping Bag Bivy. Would be good for SoCal perhaps with a tarp incase it does really rain but I must say I loved having my tent with me. Do not take just a bivy through Yosemite unless you never want to sleep!
Thanks for the reply! I’ve been reading you blog every night! I’m planning a trip for a graduation present so it’s not until 2015. Your blog has been such an inspiration to me and your gear reviews have been the most helpful thing I have read!!
Great to hear! Keep the questions coming. So exciting! 🙂
